The finest inheritance you can give to a child is to allow it to make its own way, completely on its own feet.(Isadora Duncan, U.S. dancer (1878-1927))

It is so fitting that the speaker of this quote is considered the mother of modern dance. It takes a certain amount of confidence in one’s ability to create, to move…to dance.

That type of confidence is born out of a feeling of self-reliance that can only come from one place. Within.

As much as we might want to, we cannot give our children a courageous spirit. They have to earn that through trial and error. And the only way they even have that chance is if we allow them to find their own way when appropriate.

Give your kids room to grow, to struggle, to dance – and you just may find that you are both rich beyond measure because of it.

Peace begins with a pause,
