Parents are sometimes a bit of a disappointment to their children. They don’t fulfill the promise of their early years.(Anthony Powell)

We all start out on this journey we call parenting with excellent theories…and then we become parents. Nothing changes you like parenting. Every age and stage is challenging in its own right and how you handle those challenges make all the difference between a parent and a great parent.

Usually, the problem lies in the fact we think it’s our job to teach our kids to grow up, when in reality, it’s their job to make sure we do.

They are supposed to test you, aggravate you, annoy you, and stretch you. When they do so, view it as a growth opportunity rather than a personal attack against you. Address the issues, but do so without defensiveness, rancor, or bitterness and you will be amazed at how much respect will come your way.

Peace begins with a pause,
